Welcome to Kathmandu Institute of Complex Flows
Make Your Place Known [ आफ्नो ठाउँ चिनाऊँ ]
The Kathmandu Institute of Complex Flows aims to fundamentally contribute with scientific and technological innovations with cutting-edge solutions to long-standing problems in physical, engineering, environmental, and earth sciences applying the most sophisticated physical, analytical, observational, and computational methods.
The institute aims to address great challenges in complex, multi-phase flows focusing their applications in solving problems in industrial, environmental, physical, and mathematical sciences. The institute is concerned with understanding the flow dynamics and impacts of often complex and catastrophic natural flows and industrial flows taking place without notice: How it flows – where it goes – how far – and with what force.
The Kathmandu Institute of Complex Flows is the first of this kind in the Himalayan Republic of Nepal. The institute leads meaningful research, innovation, science, and application in diverse areas of complex multi-phase flows in Nepal with internationally appreciable standards.
We apply the innovative concepts, ideas, principles, and methods we develop to solve the genuine problems existing in science, technology, industry, and environment to essentially advance our knowledge and serve society. This includes the physical sciences, mathematical sciences, engineering sciences, and earth and environmental sciences.
We welcome and appreciate national and international support aiming to enhance the institute’s objectives. The supports are appropriately credited and acknowledged.
The Kathmandu Institute of Complex Flows may award, with appreciation, the outstanding researchers, scientists, and inventors for their novel and useful findings of high niveaux in the relevant field. The institute will also provide scholarships to deserving research scholars committed to the research related to the scopes of KIC-Flows.
The Kathmandu Institute of Complex Flows works collaboratively with leading international and national academic, research, and technological institutions that are in line with the aims of the institute.
We provide cutting-edge expert advice and supervision for academic, scientific, technological, and industrial needs and purposes.
Primarily, the concept of The Kathmandu Institute of Complex Flows and the Laboratory Nepnova – Innovation Flows is generated, prepared, and developed by Prof. Dr. Shiva P. Pudasaini, and enhanced and approved by the founding members of The Kathmandu Institute of Complex Flows.
